A family business from the start, Waw Floors was born from a love of the look and feel of a beautiful, well-made floor.
Our story dates back to the early 1980s, when founder Sanjee Goonasekara fell in love with the beautiful natural materials he encountered on his travels through South India. Since then, he has passed on this passion not only to his own children, but to the entire Waw team, as well as our customers.
While our constant strive for the authenticity and timelessness of high-end quality has always been an inherent part of our DNA, we are equally driven by our curiosity and ambition to find fresh, innovative solutions that add truly unique value to our customers and our brand.
This means not only making extensive R&D efforts and investments in new technologies, materials and processes, but also developing our product concepts, exploring new business opportunities, and furthering our existing partnerships.

Materials we use
Every material we use is sourced for its unique combination of personality, aesthetics, and resilience, as well as for its technical advantages and overall sustainability. We select our suppliers and manufacturers with the utmost care, only working with those who share our passion and respect for beautiful, high-quality materials.
Our Indoor collections feature three main types of materials. For our Wood collections, we use authentic French and Siberian oak, applying a wide range of special treatments to create distinct styles and characters. Eco-friendly Bamboo offers an ideal combination of fresh, natural aesthetics, impressive durability, and exceptional sustainability. And with our Luxury Vinyl, we use the latest technology to pair an amazingly authentic look and feel with heavy-duty resilience and minimal maintenance.
Our Outdoor collections for decking, cladding and fencing, offer a choice between eco-friendly, highly durable Bamboo with a minimal carbon footprint, and technically advanced Composites developed to stand the test of time while requiring little or no maintenance.
At Waw Floors, we are aware that our love of beautiful materials comes with great responsibility.
Our natural materials are carefully sourced: all of our oak products originate from certified, responsibly farmed forests in Europe and Siberia, while our bamboo – one of the fastest-growing renewable sources in the world – is FSC-certified, grown in China’s largest bamboo reservoir. In a time when sustainability is fundamental to our way of life, we are proud to be able to offer a wide variety of beautiful, high-performance bamboo products for both indoors and outdoors.
In addition, we offer FSC-certified and PEFC-recycled composite decking for outdoor use, consisting of 90% recycled plastic and wood.
Constant investments in technology and R&D are also part of our strive toward a more sustainable production process with minimal waste. Here, we focus our efforts on energy-efficient production methods, innovative materials and other technological advances that add to our products’ lifespans, quality and overall performance.
Health and safety are also of the highest priority to us, and all of our Wood, Vinyl and Bamboo products are Floorscore-certified.
Last but not least, we are deeply dedicated to creating stunning, high-quality floors – because we believe that a floor that is loved and used for many years is always a more sustainable choice.
